Flowers Versus Stripes

Apparently, it's either flowers or stripes this summer. My closet definitely has more stripes than flowers.. How about you, what do you prefer?

The Yellow Bikes of Spring

Yellowbike One
Now that is style. And of course I mean the back tyre of my Velorbis Scrap Deluxe on the left.

Red and Yellow Encore un fois
One last dash of yellow bike in the afternoon light.

Yellow Bike Two
A classic Nishiki bike in a fetching colour.

And Converse hightops - or hightops in any brand - seem to compliment these yellow bikes. Coincedence? Fashion?

Marie and I were sitting outside at a café nearby here and watching the bikeworld go by.

Quitting Time

Quitting Time, originally uploaded by [Zakkaliciousness].

Two friends heading home at quitting time, chatting the whole way.

The helmet on the left is a good example of a typical helmet here. Skateboarding/BMX helmets in a variety of modern colours are increasingly trendy. You see many by BELL.

Pink Push

Pink Push, originally uploaded by [Zakkaliciousness].

Another capture of that magical moment when the bike is propelled forward.

Not a helmet fan myself, but that is a good example of the next generation of helmets on the market over here. Stylish, fashionable, modern. None of that racing gear look.

Wouldn't dream of telling anyone to wear a helmet. It's a personal choice and hearing pro-helmet advocates yapping on about it is like listening to right-wing fundamentalists yapping on about whatever it is they yap on about.

Wear one or don't. It's your choice. Nobody should have an opinion about what you do.

But if your helmet is lovely, I'll tell you so.
